Long live Wakanda!

Image "Black Panther" is the story of T'Challa, the king of a fictional country called Wakanda and a superhero who tries to save his homeland from greedy villains who dream of profiting from its resources. Before his debut on the big screens, the character went a long way through the pages of Marvel comics about the Fantastic Four and the Avengers, but gained widespread recognition thanks to Chadwick Boseman, who appeared as Black Panther in Civil War.

Solo "Panther" instantly conquered viewers all over the world. This moved director Ryan Coogler so much that he decided to address all fans of the film in his letter of thanks.

It's hard to find words to express all my gratitude, but I'll try.

Filmmaking is a team sport. And in our team from all over the world there are amazing people who sincerely believe in this story. Deep down, we hoped viewers would want to see a film about a fictional African country.

But we could not even imagine that something so grandiose would come of it. And I'm still amazed at how many people were willing to spend their time and money to watch our film. Seeing people of all ages and nationalities taking selfies against the background of our posters in their national clothes, with friends or family - that's what made my wife and me weep more than once.

To all those who covered and praised the release of our film, who stood in lines of cinemas around the world to meet Black Panther; the press, where they wrote about us, thereby encouraging moviegoers to go and buy a ticket; teenagers who went to the session accompanied by their friends or parents - I would like to all of you to express my gratitude for your invaluable gift: the opportunity to share with you the history of Black Panther, in which we have put our heart and soul.

Best regards, Ryan Coogler.
