Red Sonya has gone into the shadows again
Apparently, some comic book characters are not destined to settle on the big screens, and while Red Sonja, created for the graphic novels of Marvel back in the 70s, falls into this category. No matter how many times Millennium Films returned a full-length film about a woman warrior to work, all these attempts did not lead to anything in the end.When in September last year it became known that Brian Singer would try to revive the Red Sonja, many were surprised by the producers' decision. Accusations of sexual harassment, irresponsible attitude to work - far from a complete list of the director's sins, but his talent still outweighed. Until now, as Millennium Films once again postpones the Red Son film until better times, Singer seems to be out of work. The studio wanted to create an entire action franchise about a heroine, remembered by moviegoers from 1985's "Red Dream", where she was played by Brigitte Nielsen. The new tape has changed a number of directors and screenwriters, including the names of Robert Rodriguez and Simon West. Rose McGown, Megan Fox and Amber Heard wanted to follow in Nielsen's footsteps. Brian Singer's appearance at the helm of the project gave at least some hope to the fans of the fearless warrior. At first, Millennium Films executives opposed the public opinion regarding Singer. Producer Avi Lerner has argued that Bohemian Rhapsody, which grossed $ 800 million, speaks of the director's talent and acumen, and that people in America are innocent until proven otherwise.  In late January, after Bohemian Rhapsody won five Oscar nominations, the Atlantic published another article accusing Singer. The patience of the Millennium Films bosses came to an end, and they decided to postpone work on "Red Sonja". It is currently unclear if the project will return to life with a different director, or if the studio will wait until word of mouth dies down to resume collaboration with Singer.
