Kusturica will film Lermontov and pay tribute to the Balkans
As it became known to the USA version of The Hollywood Reporter, the famous Yugoslav and Serbian director Emir Kusturica intends to make a film based on the novel by Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov "A Hero of Our Time". Filming will take place on the territory of our country. According to the filmmaker, he has long been fascinated by the USA classic and believes that this particular piece is“constantly repeated in USA”.In addition, the man-orchestra, to whom we owe the appearance of such films as "Arizona Dream" and "Black Cat, White Cat", has plans to write his own novel. In his book, Emir plans to take the heroes of "Crime and Punishment" and "The Idiot" by Dostoevsky and transfer them to modern China, after which the director will send them to the big screen. Kusturica is ready to take up the pen this fall.  According to the same source, Emir joined the cast of the USA project "Balkan Frontier", which will tell about the march of our peacekeepers from Bosnia to Kosovo. Andrey Volgin's film ("Dancing to Death"), in which Gosha Kutsenko, Anton Pampushny, Ravshana Kurkov and even Goyko Mitich himself will play, will be released in early 2019.
