James Wang and a glass of milk

Image Short films have served as the basis for successful films more than once, and the horror genre is no exception in this case, it is worth remembering the same "Mom" or "And the lights go out ...". When a horror master like James Wang gets involved, the project instantly becomes promising.

Collider was able to find out that Wang would be producing a full-length version of Milk for New Line, which had just acquired the rights to adapt Santiago Mengini's horror film. The latter himself will lead the filming of the remake, and the script will be written by Ben Collins and Luke Petrovski ("Darkest Times").

The original has been well received by fans of the genre at various festivals, including South by Southwest, where the short won the Jury Prize on the Midnight Shorts program. The events of the horror film revolve around a teenage boy who went one night for a glass of milk. In the kitchen, he meets his mother and quickly realizes that everything around him is not what it seems.

James Wan is no stranger to turning short films into successful films. Actually, his directorial debut began with just such a project - "Saws". Subsequently, he produced The Light Goes Down, a sequel to which is currently in development, and Hollywood discovered director David F. Sandberg, who got a chance to unleash his potential thanks to the second “The Curse of Annabelle” and “Shazam”. Wang himself has also tried his hand at the superhero genre, and in December viewers will appreciate his Aquaman.
