Roman King and his son will move to TV
Stephen King stubbornly continues to spray terror and darkness on television screens. As it became known, in his already long chain of television adaptations a new link will appear - a series based on the novel "Sleeping Beauties". The project has already received a pilot script, which was undertaken by Owen King. It is planned that the series will not be a direct adaptation, but an adventure story with an open ending.Sleeping Beauties is the first book that Stephen King wrote in tandem with his son Owen. The novel received high praise from critics, as well as a great commercial success, despite the fact that it became only Owen's second book. The novel clearly traces the current gender issue: we have before us a scenario of a possible world structure in which there are no women left. The story is set in a small town in the Appalachian mountains, which is beset by a strange disease. All the women of the city, one after another, fall asleep, covered with a thin cocoon, and everyone who tries to wake them up faces demonic rage. Just at this time, a mysterious girl appears among the inhabitants, on whom the disease does not work. Men will have to take everything into their own hands and sort out the oddities that swept their quiet, inconspicuous town.  “I am incredibly happy that the novel Sleeping Beauties will appear on the screens in the format in which the viewer should see it, with all its mysticism and tension,” Stephen says. The adaptation of The Sleeping Beauties novel will join the already rather large list of TV projects of the Master of Horror, which includes the TV series Under the Dome, Castle Rock, Mister Mercedes, 11.22.63 and the upcoming film adaptation of Lizzie's Story.
