Candyman may return to screens
Jordan Peele won an Oscar for the script for the film Get Out, which successfully combines elements of horror and social drama, and, according to Bloody Disgusting, through the efforts of the filmmaker, one of the underrated horror franchises of the 90s, Candyman ".Before starring in Bernard Rose's film, Tony Todd was already known to film fans, but Candyman turned him into a true legend of the horror genre. The film, based on the story of Clive Barker, tells the story of a maniac who appears if you say his name five times while standing in front of a mirror. He was once the son of a slave who got rich during the Civil War. The guy grew up in a secular society and was known as a talented artist. However, having fallen in love with a white girl, he signed himself a death warrant, since her father was not satisfied with his daughter's chosen one. The man hired rioters who cut off the boy's hand, coated him with honey and left him in the apiary, where he died from bee stings. "Candyman" even received two sequels, but they passed the attention of the general public. A couple of years ago, director Bernard Rose admitted in an interview that he would like to film a worthy sequel to Candyman and see Virginia Madsen again as Helen, who in the original film explored the legend of the title character.  While Jordan Peel is only negotiating to get the rights to "Candyman", and intends to become the producer of the project. It is not clear whether the Oscar winner will also want to take the director's chair of the film. Peel is now busy filming the social thriller We and is contemplating a sequel, Get Out.
