Steven Spielberg will return to WWII
In the middle of last month, men's rights defenders posted on the Internet a 46-minute version of the blockbuster Star Wars: The Last Jedi, from which all scenes involving women were cut. In response, supporters of feminism removed the representatives of the stronger sex from the military drama "Saving Private Ryan". It is possible that the two-minute video caught the eye of Steven Spielberg. As it became known to The Hollywood Reporter, the Oscar-winning director decided to prove to Internet users that women contributed no less to the victory over fascism than men.Spielberg's Amblin Partners has acquired the film rights to Judy Batalion's Daughters of the Resistance. In her work, the granddaughter of the victims of the Holocaust will tell about young Jewish women who bravely fought against the German invaders during the Second World War. The Batalion book is expected to hit store shelves in 2020. Representatives of the foreign press are still at a loss to say whether Steven Spielberg is ready to act as the director of the film, or whether he intends to limit himself only to the functions of a producer. In the near future, the eminent director will be busy working on the fifth film about the adventures of Indiana Jones and a remake of West Side Story.  The theme of World War II played a huge role in Spielberg's film career. As a director, he gave the world the dramas Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan, and as a producer he had a hand in films such as Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima.
