Paramount talks about the life of the King of Reggae

Image Jamaican musician, actor and producer Ziggy Marley will pay tribute to his famous father. As it became known to the publication Deadline, the leader of the group Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers will join forces with the film company Paramount Pictures to work on a biographical drama about Bob Marley.

The king of reggae was born on February 6, 1945. At the age of eighteen, he and his friends formed the Wailers group, the very first single of which sold 70 thousand copies. In the mid-70s, Marley began a solo career and quickly became the world's main promoter of reggae, Rastafarianism and sunny Jamaica.

World fame came to Bob in 1975, when he recorded the legendary song `` No Woman, No Cry ''. The very next year, Marley released Rastaman Vibration, which peaked at number eight on the famous Billboard 200. Exodus, which remained at the top of the UK charts for 56 consecutive weeks, enjoyed even greater success among music lovers.

In 1977, Marley entered the list of the world's best-selling performers. Unfortunately, in the same year, a Jamaican was diagnosed with malignant melanoma on the big toe. For religious reasons, Bob refused to amputate his finger, and soon the cancer metastasized to vital organs. The singer died on May 11, 1981 in a Miami hospital.

Ziggy Marley's career proves that nature does not always rest on the children of geniuses. By the age of 49, the heir to the King of Reggae has won eight Grammy awards, recorded numerous songs for popular children's TV shows, and founded his own charitable foundation.
