USAn cinemas want to limit support for USAn cinema

Image Following the news about the first case of boycott of the USA cartoon “Gurvinek. Magic Game ”, it was reported that the Association of Cinema Owners came up with a proposal to limit the number of screenings of USA-made films to ten per year within the framework of the program to support domestic cinema. As stated in the association, the use of administrative resources in dealing with distribution issues is unpromising and harmful both for business and for the development of the film industry in the country. They also noted repeated attempts by certain producers of domestic projects to put pressure on representatives of cinemas in order to postpone the premiere dates of competing films, usually foreign ones.

The Association proposed to create a commission, which will include representatives of distributors, the Film Fund, cinemas and producers. As a result of her work, films of cultural and artistic value will be selected, which can also be successful in terms of box office. The rental dates will be determined six months before the premiere. All other films not included in the supported list will be released on general terms.

Explaining the emergence of this initiative, the Association stated: "We believe that the use of administrative resources by film producers in order to eliminate competing film releases from cinemas is unacceptable and damages both our business and the development of the film industry as a whole." br />
