”Doctor Sleep” assembles a team
Recently, interest in adaptations of Stephen King's novels has risen to unprecedented levels, despite the failure of The Dark Tower. Studios barely have time to announce new film adaptations, which include the sequel to Stanley Kubrick's The Shining. Now the producers of the film are recruiting the cast, and, according to the portal Deadline, Alexandra Essou, Carl Lumbly and Zann Maclarnon have joined the project "Sleep Doctor".Alexandra Essow, best known for her films "Eyes of the Star" and "Night Owls", signed on to play the mother of the matured Denny Torrance, Wendy. Carl Lumbly, who portrayed M'irinn J'onzz in Supergirl Season 3, will play Dick Halloran. Recall that Shelley Duvall played the role of Wendy in the Kubrick tape, and Scatman Crothers played Halloran. In addition, Fargo season 2 star Zann McLarnon joined the project as the villainous villain and right-hand man of the Rose-in-the-Hat, portrayed by Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible: Fallout).  The Rose-in-the-Hat is the leader of a brotherhood called the Knot of the Faithful, whose main goal is to hunt down children with radiance. It is not yet clear if we will see the rest of the group. So, in "Doctor Sleep" there are many open roles, and we hope that the creators of the picture will present us with many more surprises.  The film will be directed by Mike Flanagan, who recently directed Gerald's Game for Neflix. The premiere of the painting in the United States is scheduled for January 24, 2020.
