Gerard Butler will save the Mona Lisa
Two days ago, the news came from Hollywood that Gerard Butler had signed up to shoot in the sequel to the crime thriller Hunt for Thieves. As it became known to the publication Deadline, the hardworking Scot decided not to stop there and become the real king of the franchises.Gerard began preparing for the Afterburn adventure film. The screenplay of the film based on the graphic novel of the same name published by Red 5 Comics was written by Matt Johnson ("Welcome to Paradise!"). The action of the picture will unfold in the near future, when a powerful solar flare will destroy all earthly technologies. Butler will appear as an experienced treasure hunter who will travel to France to find the missing Mona Lisa. The film will be directed by South Korean Jong Ben-gil, who has earned critical acclaim for his work on last year's action-thriller Villain.  Butler began eyeing the starring role in the Afterburn adaptation back in 2010. Now the film adaptation of the comic has finally found a director and is ready to go into production. If the film is successful with viewers, the management of Original Film, G-BASE and Endurance Media plans to create a series of films about the adventures of the hero Gerard, in which he will go in search of the jewels of the British Crown, the Star of India and the treasures of the Chinese emperors.
