![]() Festival President Nikita Mikhalkov proudly announced that this year the attendance of the Moscow International Film Festival has grown by twenty percent and amounted to 60 thousand spectators. The show was opened by Jean-Francois Richet's historical action "Vidocq: The Emperor of Paris", and the closing film was a documentary film by Werner Herzog and Andre Singer "Meeting with Gorbachev". Over the past week, the festival jury, headed by South Korean director Kim Ki-Duk, viewed 13 films that participated in the main competition program. The main prize of the MIFF-2019 went to the Kazakhstani drama “Personal Growth Training”. The chairman of the jury himself did not leave without an award: Comrade Kim will take home the prize for his contribution to world cinema. Another honorary award of the festival went to British actor and director Rafe Fiennes.
