Netflix and Sean Levy to direct a TV series about a blind girl

Image Behind the iconic "Mystery Events," Sean Levy and online service Netflix have acquired the rights to film the Pulitzer Prize-winning Anthony Dorr's bestseller, All The Light We Cannot See. They plan to make a mini-series from the book, published in 2014.

The printed original is set during World War II in France and Germany, and features a blind French teenage girl Marie-Laure and a German soldier as they try to survive together in the occupation. The series has not yet acquired a scriptwriter, and Levy and his company, 21 Laps, have taken responsibility for the production functions.

Dorr's novel made a splash among fans of literature and critics right after publication, and it lasted as much as 130 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list. Meanwhile, 21 Laps recently completed production of the third season of Mysterious Events and took on several promising projects at once, including the comedy I Am Not Okay With This for the same Netflix.
