The Walt Disney Empire continues to suspend the assembly line for new spin-offs of George Lucas' space saga. Lucasfilm studio president Kathleen Kennedy made it clear that Disney executives considered the experiment to create a Star Wars Tales anthology a failure.To date, the line of standalone film projects based on Star Wars includes two films - Rogue One and Han Solo. Both faced serious off-screen issues and massive reshoots. The leading role in the plot of "Rogue One" was played not by the time-tested favorites of the public, but by completely new inhabitants of a distant, distant galaxy. Disney people clearly do not consider this picture as a failure, otherwise they would hardly have announced a series about the adventures of one of its key characters - the rebel Cassian Andor. As for "Han Solo", it seems to have been doomed to failure from the start, as many fans were reluctant to accept the very idea of replacing Harrison Ford with a new actor. Kennedy's words make it clear that the House of Mouse will either give viewers a respite from spin-offs featuring characters from the main film series, or refuse to create them altogether. Perhaps only those projects in which the studio would have to go to recast the stars of previous films will go on the shelf. In this case, moviegoers will have hope for a solo album of the same Obi-Wan Kenobi, because the franchise owners do not need to change Ewan McGregor for another actor.  Earlier this month, the Walt Disney Empire added three Star Wars-themed films to its release schedule. The first part of the new trilogy from the creators of Game of Thrones will arrive on the screens, the plot of which may be based on the game franchise Knights of the Old Republic.
