Halle Berry has an Oscar, she has tried on a superhero costume more than once, but during her long film career she has not tried her hand at directing. According to the portal Deadline, the actress decided to correct this omission by leading the shooting of a sports drama called Bruised, where she will also play the main role.The film is about Jackie - a disgraced MMA fighter who screwed up even in sports. However, in the life of the heroine, a six-year-old son appears, abandoned by her many years ago, and Jackie is forced to return to the world of martial arts in order to fight a rising MMA star and at the same time become a good mother for her child. The script for the film was written by Michelle Rosenfarb, a newcomer to full-length, and the production functions will be shared by Basil Ivanik ("The Expendables") and Linda Gottlieb ("Dirty Dancing"). Last year, Blake Lively claimed the lead role in the film, Nick Cassavetes was given the director's chair, but the project stalled, and Berry managed to get him back into work.
