Don't rush to bury us. Review of ”Cars 3”

Image In 2006, the daring Lightning McQueen burst onto the big screens with all his might and in the blink of an eye won the hearts of young viewers around the world. The first "Cars" were a spiritual story that even a champion needs real friends, because with whom else can you share the sweet taste of victory? The continuation of one of the most profitable Pixar franchises was marked by unexpected spy passions and breathtaking panoramas of world capitals, but the sequel, alas, was completely devoid of the rays of good, and therefore is considered not very successful.

As for the third "Cars" , they became the most sentimental and at the same time life-affirming part of the entire film series. Yes, Lightning still has loyal friends and a sea of adrenaline, but sooner or later in the career of each champion there comes a moment when it's time to give up your podium to another. If you are"no longer cake"and oblivion and"home for the rusted"loom ahead, friendly support will not ease this pain. So how can the idol of millions of kids retire with dignity and not disappoint them? ..

According to the plot, during the next race of the veteran of the track McQueen , with ease and valiant courage, he is overtaken by a younger, technically advanced and pumped up rival Jackson Storm . At first, Lightning decides it's just an annoying nuisance, but there is such a fuss about the impudent newcomer that it becomes obvious that McQueen should move over. Not wanting to give up without a fight, the audience's favorite enters into a desperate fight with the impudent man, which ends in a terrible disaster. Humiliated and crushed, Lightning locks himself in the garage and delights in self-flagellation. But friends are not asleep. They pull him out of the abyss of depression and send him to a sponsor who gives McQueen hope for an enchanting return.<

Cars was the brainchild of Pixar's old-timer John Lasseter, who decided to entrust debut director Brian Fee with filming the third part. And this risky step has led to very pleasant results: Brian has created a coherent, even elegant story about accepting his place in the profession, full of additional topics from the series "something to think about." Here you will also talk about the great mission of the mentor and, which is especially curious, about the true thrill of mentoring, as well as about the rights and opportunities of women, about the role of money in regaining youth for oneself, and much more.

All this, of course, is incomprehensible and not particularly interesting to the young viewer, but Mr. Phi took care of him too: "Cars " are primarily races, and there are plenty of spectacular races here ... The motors roar, the tires burn, the stands choke with delight. The boys' favorite moment of the triquel will certainly be a race in the mud, girls - on the beach, their parents - at night in the forest. The moment when fashionable paint flies from McQueen in tatters and he becomes himself again is his long-suffering, bravura "we will fight again" through force. And it will certainly hurt those spectators who know from their own experience that no, they will not fight. You can convince yourself as much as you like that old age does not exist, but one day the very day will come when the youth will wipe your bumper.

The graphics in the third "Cars" cannot be called innovative, but they certainly strive, if not for perfection, then for real magic. Even when the narrative sags, Pixar 's knowledgeable artists save the day. Picturesque photorealistic landscapes, luxurious interiors of a high-tech training center, provincial charm of the provincial town of Radiator Springs and its good-natured inhabitants, and, of course, the super-aggressive design of a young crowd of racers - all this works to increase the emotional background of the story, as well as the plot and dialogues itself.

If your career is going through hard times now, at the session of new "Cars" you may feel sad. But if you listen carefully to the advice given by McQueen track veterans, watching this family cartoon can have an unexpected psychotherapeutic effect. As one of the cartoon characters put it, any kind of energy should be used. Judging by the new Cars , the energy of Brian Fee has been used as efficiently as possible: it cannot be said that Lightning McQueen with the end of the franchise went to junk. He said goodbye to the audience with all the dignity possible for a racing car, learned the main life lesson and went to the Golden Fund of the studio Pixar in the status of a legend.
