Stan Lee Media Inc., founded by legendary popular comic creator Stan Lee, has filed a lawsuit in the California District Court demanding that it return all rights to Conan and claiming the proceeds from the recently released Conan the Barbarian movie. .

The plaintiffs' claims are based on the following arguments. Stan Lee founded the company in the late 90s of the last century and assigned it on his behalf to manage all of its superheroes. In 2000 Stan Lee Media Inc. did acquire the rights to Conan, but a year later the firm went bankrupt. Taking advantage of the moment, one of the managers, not authorized by the owners, transferred the rights to the Cimmerian warrior to Conan Sales Co. The plaintiffs consider this transaction illegal.

In 2010, Stan Lee Media Inc. was reorganized and re-incorporated in Colorado. Since then, she has been trying to reassemble her intellectual property.

Conan's current owner, Paradox Entertainment, has not yet commented on the situation. Note that Stan Lee himself now has nothing to do with Stan Lee Media Inc.
