The first image of Smog appeared on the web

Interesting information can be obtained by studying carefully the video blogs of Peter Jackson from the set of The Hobbit.

In one of the episodes of the second video, you can see that some of the crew members are dressed in sweaters, on the back of which is written " 200 days to finish ". This inscription is shown in close-up several times.

But for a couple of seconds, the front side of the sweater, on which a certain logo flaunts, is also captured. After simple manipulations in a graphics editor, it turns out that this is a stylized inscription `` HOBBIT '', around which a dragon is wrapped.

It is possible that the drawing would not deserve close study if it did not almost exactly repeat the image of Smog , created by renowned illustrator John Howe in 1990. His work was used to design one of the editions of The Hobbit and are now perhaps the most famous depiction of the famous dragon.

Another argument in favor of this assumption is the collectible sculpture of Smaug, which was released by Peter Jackson's Weta company.
