So if such five characters really lived in their heads, then they would have to work hard while watching this movie, since the “ Puzzle ” affects all emotions: mainly Joy, but often Sadness, and Fear, and Disgust, and light Anger. This is a real attraction, but not action (although it is present), but sensuality. If you manage to leave the cinema without a handkerchief in hand, then you have forgotten what it means to be a child.
The ability of Pixar employees to make movies that are universal in the best sense of the word is truly amazing. “ Puzzle ” is a comedy, a drama, an adventure, and even a thriller, and even a parody. And each of these genres is understood and executed almost perfectly without any cliches and cliches so often used in Hollywood today. Magicians (you can't name it otherwise) Pixar think outside the box and thus set an excellent example for their viewers to do the same.
"Puzzle" is a very warm movie, it is so easy to recognize yourself in it, own actions and mistakes. In addition, since the action takes place in the head, all the girl's actions lend themselves to such a detailed analysis that when leaving, you involuntarily begin to analyze your own surges of emotions. Director and screenwriter Pete Docter turned out to be a very sensitive psychologist, and his cartoon turned out to be subtle, responsible and smart. It is full of original findings and life observations in the behavior of characters.
You really feel the soul of the creators in it. The attention to detail is almost unprecedented here. However, everyone what's happening on the screen is still full of witty humor for adults and physical jokes for kids. As a result, the whole audience is laughing colic. The movie is also full of useful lessons: how to be better, braver, more generous, selfless, more hardworking. While the final morale will be difficult to predict as always in the case of Pixar, one thing is for sure: it is insanely touching.
The movie flies by truly unnoticed. Before the start, those who are not late for the show, as always, are waiting for a short cartoon, this time about a loving volcano. But as soon as the “ Puzzle ” itself begins it becomes almost impossible to tear yourself away from the screen. Again, thanks to a masterful mix of genres, lots of jokes and an intriguing story, the action instantly sucks you into a stream of unpredictable plot twists. striking unusual characters and places that you could not even imagine.
Since the action takes place mostly in the head of the main character, this gives space for boundless possibilities and experiments. And the creators actively use this freedom. The design of the world within the mind captures the imagination. You will see a dream studio, creative lands, long-term memory labyrinths, and much more. Everything is painted in vibrant colors and equipped with unique plush characters that you can't wait to cuddle. In any case, you've never seen anything like this before.
It should be noted, however, that in their experiments the creators go too far a couple of times. So there are literally a couple of short scenes in the movie, which turned out to be at least strange and not fully understood. One could easily do without them, but their presence does not pull them out of the story for a long time.
In the end, it should be noted the wonderful and resourceful animation. For example, five emotions seem to glow from the inside, which makes them even more significant and distinctive from other characters. The real world is rendered equally perfect: Pixar continues to improve animation, adding more and more details to characters' faces, their movements, hair and surroundings. There is also the utterly adorable pink cotton candy elephant spawned by children's imaginations, and the island of goofy that impresses toddlers and brings many memories to their parents. Even in such a seemingly simple natural way “ Puzzle ” manages to unite different generations, to give them something in common, to which everyone is related. This is the genius of Pixar.
