Arnold Schwarzenegger meets with Special Olympics medalists
Despite the fact that Arnold Schwarzenegger's visit to the USA capital is scheduled by the minute, the Governor of California finds time not only to meet with officials and participate in various conferences. Schwarzenegger insisted on meeting with young USAs, winners of awards at the Special Olympics. As a reminder, the Special Games are held separately from the main Olympic and Paralympic events. Athletes with mental retardation take part in them. The first Special Olympics were held in the USA in 1968. In our country, the Society for Special Olympics of USA was registered by the Ministry of Justice only in 1999, but earlier USA athletes took part in international competitions of the Special Olympics series.
