Review of the movie Like a cool guard. Failed Cool

The emotionally unstable goof Ronnie dreams of himself as a hero guarding society from evil. In reality, he works as the head of security in a shopping center and lives with an alcoholic mother. When an exhibitionist starts running around the parking lot of the mall, terrorizing shoppers with a show of his dignity, Ronnie decides that his hour has come and that by `` solving this case '' he can get a job with the police. With `` Kinda tough guard '' be careful: this is the rare case when you may be ashamed in front of your friends that you went for `` such '' to the cinema.

"Kinda tough guard" in some ways very much like Adrenaline 2: there – lethal first part, here – hilariously funny commercial, to the voice acting in both cases, `` put his lips '' Goblin – must have been very funny! It turned out disgusting, in some places – disgusting.

The idea behind Jody Hill, who wrote and directed Kinda Tough Guard, is quite obvious – and domestic distributors got here with their own name (in the original, the movie is called `` Observe and report '' - `` Observe and report '') like a pretty penny. The satirical comedy with Seth Rogen tries to continue the `` Kind of Tough Cop '' tradition, where Wright and Pegg licked and colicky Hollywood pretentious action movies with their unrealistically tough heroes. Jody Hill wants to do like Wright's with Pegg, only he decided to scoff at the cliches of Hollywood movies about like a loser hero gets a dream he never stopped believing in.

Hollywood tells us in every second piece of screen soap that it is enough to have a dream and not fold your hands when you cannot achieve it. As the most controversial representatives of the genre have said, `` Victory belongs to whoever believes in it most. And the longest! ''

"Kinda tough security guard" Ronnie is just such a hero: he dreams of becoming a policeman (and extinguishing the hellish evil from the Winchester) and will not stop on the way to his dream, even if it is unattainable for him. If anyone thinks this is enough, let them look at the tough Ronnie. After all, it is important not only to have a dream: it is equally important, what is this dream - is it not aggressive and is it not moronic in principle?

Jodie Hill seems to lack wit to deliver top-notch comedy: most of the jokes in Kinda Tough Guard - past the box office or on the verge of a foul. There are, however, a few episodic moments and lines that make you laugh wildly, but these are just one-off cases.

At the same time, watch the `` Tough Guard Type '' It's not boring at all, and if you don't leave the hall in the middle of the movie after your girlfriend, the movie will delight you with excellent action. in the form of several chases and fights, including – enchanting massacre of Ronnie with a squad of police using a flashlight. But this does not change the overall unpleasant impression of the movie.

For some reason I want to think that Jody Hill failed with his 'Guard' not because his jokes are unfunny, but because he was torn between the intention of simply screwing up movie cliches and the attempt to make a misanthropic satire on a consumer society in the spirit of Fight Club.

`` Kinda tough security guard '', of course, shows extreme, extreme examples: the dim-witted bumpkin Ronnie, the blonde saleswoman from the cosmetics department, others – but is a regular visitor of shopping centers so different from them?

Boring ordinary people came to the movie to laugh at Ronnie's stupid attempts to achieve his dreams, and the movie laughed at the townsfolk with their gray philistine dreams. It would be great if Hill was capable of this: to show the philistine society a concentrated version of its individual representatives, as if to say: `` laugh, freaks ''; why aren't you laughing? ''

The idea would be completely in the spirit of Tyler Durden, especially since implicit references to Fight Club there is plenty of – to the extent that the final chase in the `` Guard '' goes under ‘ The Pixies – Where is my mind & rsquo;.

Unfortunately, in fact, Jodie Hill just didn't seem to have enough talent and wit to make the planned kind of sequel to The Tough Cop Type. Wright and Pegg. `` Kind of tough guard '', alas, not at all as tough, – did not stand nearby.
