Anne Hathaway to star in Tom Hooper's Les Miserables
Anne Hathaway has joined the cast of Tom Hooper's movie Les Miserables, based on the acclaimed work of Victor Hugo. According to a press release from Universal Pictures, the actress got the role of Fantine, the beloved of the protagonist Jean Valjean. Hugh Jackman will play Valjean himself, and Russell Crowe will play the role of his pursuer, Inspector Javert. Filming will begin shortly with an eye on the premiere in December 2012.
