On Sunday, November 21, an American Delta plane made an emergency landing at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York after a fire on board was reported and one of its engines malfunctioned. According to the NY Times newspaper, Leonardo DiCaprio was on board a Boeing 767 flying to Moscow, who was supposed to arrive in St. Petersburg to participate in an international conference on the protection of tigers.
An emergency at the New York airport the plane was met by about 100 firefighters and dozens of representatives of rescue services. None of the 193 passengers and 11 crew members on board were injured.
Leonardo DiCaprio thanked the pilots for their self-control and professionalism, which allowed them to safely land the car.
The actor signed autographs for the crew and most of the passengers. An investigation is underway into the emergency landing.
