Guillermo Del Toro's studio is working with Universal Pictures to begin production of Van Helsing. This is reported by the Pajiba edition. The movie will not be a remake of the 2004 movie starring Hugh Jackman, but it is based on the gothic novel Dracula by British writer Bram Stoker. The script of the movie was written by Del Toro himself. Since the Mexican moviemaker has given up his job as director of The Hobbit, he may well choose to direct Van Helsing. Recall that, in addition to Jackman, the role of Professor Van Helsing was played by Anthony Hopkins in Bram Stoker's Dracula. Terms of work on the new project have not yet been determined.
