20th Century Fox has renamed the prequel to Planet of the Apes again. According to the official press release, instead of Rise of the Apes viewers will now see Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
Such a dramatic change just a few months before the premiere does not bode well. This indicates, at least, that the marketing service has not yet decided on the scheme for promoting the product on the market. But the reason may be much more serious.
It is quite possible that the leadership of 20th Century Fox is not at all confident in the success of the project and is striving with all its might to tie it at least with the name to the original movie.
Recall that the movie's premiere date has also changed several times. At the time of this writing, it was announced for August 5, 2011.
The director of the movie is Rupert Wyatt. The main roles are played by James Franco, Tom Felton, Brian Cox, Freida Pinto, Andy Serkis and other actors. Special effects are managed by Weta Digital.
