The US FBI in 1972 tried to prevent the spread and screening of the famous porn movie Deep Throat. This case seemed so important to the then leadership of the FBI that Deputy Director of the Bureau V. Mark Felt personally dealt with it. Such data are contained in documents provided by the FBI to the AP agency under the Freedom of Access to Information Act.

The agents of the bureau seized copies of the movie, interrogated all project participants, including director Gerard Damiano and the leading actors, distributors and even couriers who delivered the movie to cinemas. The case involved agents from many regional divisions - from Honolulu to Detroit.

This was the last case in the history of the United States, when law enforcement agencies tried to prevent the spread of the product of the cultural and sexual revolution.

Recall that after the release of `` Deep Throat '' pornography finally came out of the underground and became the same mainstream phenomenon as ordinary cinema.
