New Line Cinema and the Tolkien Trust of Tolkien's Heirs have resolved a financial dispute over the division of profits from The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The heirs demanded more than $ 150 million from the creators of the trilogy, since under the terms of the 1969 agreement, they were supposed to receive 7.5 percent of the proceeds from the movie adaptations of the writer's works.
