John Woo Returns to Hollywood with Marco Polo Movie
John Woo is planning a triumphant return to Hollywood after a six-year absence. One of his first Hollywood projects may be a movie about the famous Venetian traveler Marco Polo. According to Wu himself, in an interview with MovieLine, this is one of his favorite pages in Chinese history. The director intends not only to talk about Polo's adventures in Central Asia, but also to focus on his relationship with Kublai Khan, whose patronage was enjoyed by the traveler.
