The auction house Nate D. Sanders held an auction at which rare movie awards were presented. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar became the leader of the auction 1936, which was received by Charles MacArthur for the script for the movie The Scoundrel.

Despite the fact that the state of the figurine was very deplorable, an anonymous buyer paid 106.2 thousand dollars for it. At a much more modest amount, the Golden Globe was estimated Marlon Brando. The lot went under the hammer for 37.3 thousand dollars.

Note that since 1950, all the winners of the Oscar sign a contract obliging them to first of all offer their statuettes to the Academy for a fixed amount and, only in case of its refusal, to put them up for sale.
