Paramount Defended The Godfather
New York Federal Court Verdict Paramount's Dispute With The Godfather's Heir Foundation Mario Puzo. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the court rejected the foundation's demand to invalidate the contract with the studio, concluded in the late 60s of the last century, and giving Paramount the right to movie the writer's books. The studio's victory did not become complete, since the court did not reject another claim of the foundation. Puzo's successors believed Paramount was in breach of the agreement by opposing the publication of a work called The Corleone Family, which the foundation planned to publish.
