Timur Bekmambetov found funds for a new movie in Hollywood
Studio Weinstein Co. will finance the shooting of the movie War of the Currents, produced by Timur Bekmambetov. According to The Hollywood Reporter, this is the movie War of the Currents, the script of which Bekmambetov acquired in 2012. At the center of its plot is the confrontation between Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse, who were trying to create the world's first operating and commercially viable power grid. Edison was a supporter of direct current, while his opponent was an alternating one. On the side of Westinghouse was another famous scientist and inventor - Nikola Tesla. Ultimately the war of currents ended only in 2007. Who will stage the movie is still unknown.
