The American Film Academy will celebrate the 60th anniversary of Charlie Chaplin's acclaimed movie, Ramp Lights. According to an official press release received by the Kino News portal, a special screening of the movie with subsequent discussion will take place on October 3, 2012 at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.

Ticket prices for viewers will be five dollars, for members of the Film Academy and students - three dollars.

Recall that the tragicomedy "Ramp Lights" became the last Chaplin movie, which he shot in the United States. In 1952, while traveling in Europe, the American visa of the great artist was canceled, and the movie itself was banned from showing.

It first appeared on American screens only in 1972, and a year later he was awarded an Oscar. " Ramp Lights " - largely an autobiographical project, its action takes place in 1914, when Chaplin himself shot his first movie.

Another famous comedian, Buster Keaton, also played in the movie.
