Luke Cage Selected
Netflix and Marvel have cast Mike Coulter ("The Right Wife") to play Luke Cage in their superhero television show. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter. During an investigation in New York, private detective Jessica Jones encounters the mysterious Luke Cage, a man whose past is full of secrets. This encounter will dramatically affect Jessica herself in ways she never imagined. Coulter will debut in a recurring role as Luke Cage in Known as Jessica Jones, which stars December this year was approved by Kristen Ritter ("Don't believe su *** from apartment 23"). "Known as Jessica Jones" is the second of four TV series, dedicated to Marvel superheroes – Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. Coulter will then lead a series dedicated to his character. Eventually, he, Charlie Cox (Matt Murdoch / Daredevil), Kristen Ritter, and the as-yet-to-be-found Iron Fist actor will team up in the miniseries The Defenders to complete their stories. Luke Cage first appeared in comic "Luke Cage, Hero for Hire" in June 1972. Acquaintance with the character takes place in prison, where he is serving time on false charges. Cage agrees to participate in the experiment, during which he gains superhuman strength. In recent years, Cage has maintained a relationship with Jessica Jones and is a member of the Avengers team, and also leads the Thunderbolts.
