Director Joe Carnahan has given up movieing a remake of the famous detective Death Wish. According to Deadline, the reason for this decision was the director's unwillingness to work with Bruce Willis.

Carnahan intended to shoot a new version of the movie according to his own script and defended the right to choose actors before the management of the MGM movie company. However, the studio bosses approved Willis, who is notorious for being an extremely moody star in Hollywood. As a result, Carnahan left the project.

Recall that Charles Bronson played the main role in the original 1974 movie. The plot was built around an ordinary businessman from New York, whose wife and child were killed by a gang of hooligans. The hero devotes his life to the destruction of bandits on the streets of his hometown.
