Syfy Channel, Ridley Scott's Scott Free productions and Warner Horizon Television will jointly develop a miniseries based on Arthur C. Clarke's fourth novel in The Space Odyssey series, 3001: The Final Odyssey. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Published in 1997, the book continues the story begun in the first novel, 2001: A Space Odyssey: the frozen body of astronaut Frank Poole, found floating in space. The series of sci-fi novels was written by Clark between 1968 and 1997. The first novel and its adaptation, 2001: A Space Odyssey, directed by Stanley Kubrick, were published and released at the same time.
