Star Trek 3 premiere date announced
Paramount Pictures has announced the premiere of Star Trek 3. The official press release states that the picture will be released on July 8, 2016. It was previously announced that Justin Lin was appointed director of the movie. The main competitor to Star Trek 3 during this period will be the animated movie Ice Age 5, announced on July 14, 2016. The cast of the project has not been officially announced at the time of this writing, but Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Soldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, John Cho are expected to star in the third episode. As a reminder, 2016 will mark the 50th anniversary of the Star Trek franchise. The first season of the TV series of the same name aired from 1966 to 1969. At the time of this writing, the latest feature movie in this series, entitled "Star Trek: Retribution", was released in 2013. The production budget of the movie was $ 190 million, and the world box office was quite modest - $ 467 million.
