One of the old heroes will return to the Vampire Diaries
In the sixth season of the series The Vampire Diaries the recurring role of Matthew Davis will become regular again. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Davis returned to his character Alaric Saltzman in the fifth season finale of the vampire drama, which aired on The CW on May 15, 2014. Alaric's ghost has been revived with a spell that brings some lovers back from the dead. Since debuting in the first season of the series, Davis's character has appeared in a variety of roles – first as a history teacher, then as a vampire hunter, city councilor, guardian of Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Jeremy (Stephen R. McQueen), and also as one of Damon's friends (Ian Somerhalder). Alaric was killed in the third season finale and appeared as a ghost in subsequent seasons of the show.
