The British Film Institute has announced the results of the next poll, which is held every ten years to determine the ten best movies in the history of cinema.

For the first time since 1962, the leader has changed in this ranking: the picture of Orson Welles' Citizen Kane " ceded first place to the movie `` Vertigo '', directed by Alfred Hitchcock. In third place was the Japanese drama "Tokyo Story" 1953 release.

The rest of the top ten places were distributed as follows:

6. 2001: A Space Odyssey (USA, 1968)

7. " Seekers " (USA, 1956)

8. " Man with a movie camera " (USSR, 1929)

9. " The Passion of Joan of Arc " (France, 1928)

10. " 8 and a half " (Italy, 1963)

More than 800 movie critics, movie academics, distributors from 73 countries of the world are in the rating.
