Director Darren Aronofsky will head the jury for the 65th Berlin Film Festival. This was reported on the official page of one of the oldest European movie forums.

"At the Berlinale, movies are always exciting and inspiring. I look forward to seeing the best work from the most talented moviemakers in one of the most impressive cities on the planet," the director said in a statement. The movie festival will take place from 5 to 15 February 2015. It was previously announced that the honorary Golden Bear will be presented to director Wim Wenders.

Let us remind you that in 2014 the main prize of the Berlin Film Festival was given to a Chinese movie entitled "Black Coal. Thin Ice". The Jury Award went to The Grand Budapest Hotel, directed by American director Wes Anderson. The Silver Bear went to Richard Linklater, who directed The Childhood of a Boy.

The Berlin Film Festival was founded in 1951. The main award is considered to be the heraldic symbol of the German capital - "Golden Bear". Traditionally, the Berlinale is not as conservative as another key European movie festival, Cannes.
