Steven Spielberg is developing a television adaptation of his famous science fiction movie Minority Report. The upcoming series will be scripted by Max Borenstein ("Godzilla") and produced by Amblin Television, which produced the original movie. This is reported by The Wrap.

Both the studio itself and representatives of Spielberg and Borenstein have so far refrained from any comments.

Based on the science fiction story of the same name by Philip K. Dick, the movie 2002 release tells the story of Police Captain John Anderton (Tom Cruise), head of the crime prevention unit "PreCrime", who with the help of visionaries ("Provo") – people with foresight – prevents crimes before they happen.

It is assumed that the leading actor in the series will be an A-class actor or actress. It is not yet known what time period will be discussed, and whether it will be connected with the events of the full-length movie.

At the time of this writing, Spielberg is developing an unnamed thriller about the times of the Cold War, the main role in which, according to rumored to be played by Tom Hanks. Also, the famous moviemaker will be busy adapting the children's book "BDV, or The Big Good Giant" by Roald Dahl, most likely as a director. On television, Spielberg is overseeing CBS's Beyond and the upcoming Fox drama Red Bracelets, starring Octavia Spencer.

Borenstein is currently working on the script for the fantasy adventure Skull Island:
