James Cameron substantiates the death of the Titanic protagonist

James Cameron decided to respond to numerous criticisms regarding the scene of the death of the hero Leonardo DiCaprio in the movie Titanic.

After the movie was released in 1997, many of its viewers noted the inadequacy of Rose's actions after the crash on a fragment of a wooden interior, but did not invite her lover to take a place next to her. An experiment was even carried out in Japan, during which it was proved that on such a `` raft '' two people fit without any problems.

Now, after the release of the Blu-ray edition of the movie, these claims sounded with renewed vigor. In an interview with IGN, the director clarified the situation completely.

“The point is not in the surface area of the object, but in its buoyancy. Jack is no fool and did not want to die at all. In this episode, he makes an attempt to climb onto a wooden structure, but it sank under the water and almost overturned. Even if they managed to somehow climb onto it and maintain balance, they would still be half submerged in water, which means that both would die of hypothermia, '' Cameron summed up.
