HBO Announces Animals Comedy Premiere Date
HBO has announced the premiere of its new animated series, "The Beasts." The comedy, directed by Phil Matariz and Mike Luciano, kicks off on HBO on February 5, 2016 at 11:30 pm. The series "Beasts." produced by Duplass Brothers Television, owned by brothers Mark and Jay Duplass ("Unity"), tells the story of creatures that live in the most uninhabitable environment – in New York City. We are talking about rats suffering from love, pigeons, whose sex has not yet been determined, and aging bugs. Characters go through a midlife crisis and engage in awkward small talk along the way, suffer from moral uncertainty, and engage in existential troubles. In this, they are strikingly similar to the people with whom they coexist. The first two episodes of the series aired at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and received positive reviews. In May of this year, HBO ordered the production of two seasons of the comedy at once. The first season has ten episodes.
