The 20th Century Fox movie studio intends to re-movie a series of popular comics called "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen", hoping to build a new franchise on their basis. This is reported by the Tracking Board.

Recall that in the original graphic novel, written by Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill, it was about a group of literary heroes of the Victorian era, including Captain Nemo, Invisible Woman, Allan Quatermain, Mina Harker and others, united in a team to fight evil in the person of Professor Moriarty.

In later editions, the plot of the comic overlapped with many famous works, including War of the Worlds and even Harry Potter.

The first attempt at movie adaptation was made in 2003. Stephen Norrington's version was very different from the original, which led to sharp criticism from Alan Moore. The movie flopped both at home and internationally, earning just $ 179 million on a production budget of $ 78 million. Sean Connery played his last role in this movie.

It was also planned to shoot a television series based on the comics, but these plans were not destined to come true. Terms of work on a new project, which does not have a director yet, are not specified.
