NBC has renewed drama series Chicago on Fire and Chicago Police Force for the next seasons. The news was announced by NBC head Bob Greenblatt during a press conference held in Chicago on Monday. Chicago On Fire will return with a fifth season, and its Chicago Police spin-off will return with a fourth season in 2016/17. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The news is not surprising, since both series, created by Dick Wolfe, demonstrate consistently high views. Universal Television's Chicago television franchise has expanded with a third show – "Doctors of Chicago" - which will debut in November this year.
