The Discovery Channel has recruited an FBI agent for its upcoming drama "Manifesto". According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Avatar" star Sam Worthington got the lead role in the project about the notorious scientist and terrorist Ted Kaczynski, who will be played by the appointed on the eve of Paul Bettany.

The eight-part drama, which will be produced by Lionsgate Television and Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti's Trigger Street, tells the story of how the FBI managed to catch one of the smartest and most dangerous criminals in the world, who sent bombs by mail and received the nickname Unabomber.

Worthington will play FBI agent Jim "Fitz" Fitzgerald, an award-winning bureau profiler. whose radical approach helped catch Kaczynski after a 20-year hunt for him. Worthington's lead role in The Manifesto will be his first on American television.

The Manifesto is written by executive producer Andrew Sodrosky (Holland, Michigan). Greg Yaytans ("The Banshee") has been appointed as showrunner and director of all eight episodes. Spacey, Brunetti, Troy Sirer and John Goldwin will share executive producer responsibilities. Fitzgerald will act as consultant producer.

The Manifesto's premiere has yet to be determined.
