Neil Blomcamp unveils new illustration for Alien movie
South African director Neil Blomkamp has posted on his official Instagram page new concept art for his upcoming xenomorph movie. The picture shows Ellen Ripley, Corporal Hicks and several other heroes, one of whom is wearing a heavy protective suit. "The alien is slowly moving. I like this project," reads the caption under the illustration. As a reminder, the movie, tentatively titled "Alien 5", will be based on Blomkamp's own ideas, which he presented to 20th Century Fox in early 2015. The concepts impressed the studio management, and they agreed to fund the picture. It is expected that its plot will ignore the third and fourth parts of the franchise, and the main characters of the movie "Aliens" will once again be at the center of the story. The director has repeatedly stressed that his story will not overlap with Ridley Scott's "Prometheus." Sigourney Weaver, the performer of the role of Ellen Ripley, and Michael Bien, who played Corporal Hicks in Aliens, have confirmed their participation in the project. The shooting schedule was not officially announced, but, according to some sources, Blomkamp plans to start movieing in late summer 2015 with an eye on the premiere in the second half of 2017.
