The protagonist of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, based on which Blade Runner was movieed, Rick Deckard is a replicant. This opinion was expressed in an interview with Yahoo, the director of the movie Ridley Scott.

"Of course, he's a damn replicant. He'll have to admit it. You will see this story. It will explain everything," he explained, referring to the Blade Runner sequel. According to Scott, Harrison Ford, who played Deckard, was initially very skeptical. “He told me:“ Oh well! ”But I still insisted that he read the script. And, do you know what he said later? That this is the best script that he has read in recent years,” the director added. He also clarified that the sequel will take place in the middle of the 21st century.

In addition to Ford, Ryan Gosling agreed to play one of the key roles in the movie. Filming is due to start in the summer of 2016 with an eye on the premiere in 2017. The director is Denis Villeneuve, who has previously directed movies such as Fire and Prisoners.

Recall that the original movie was released in 1982 and, despite its very modest earnings - $ 32 million - won cult status among fans. The adaptation was quite different from the literary source.
