David Fincher to direct the sequel to War of the Worlds Z
Long negotiations between Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions with director David Fincher about his possible participation in the creation of the movie "World War Z 2" seem to have ended in success. According to Variety, the director agreed to shoot a sequel to the movie about the zombie apocalypse. The source of the publication claims that this happened solely thanks to the efforts of the new head of Paramount Jim Gianopoulos, who apparently found the arguments that interested the director. The project has not officially received the green light yet, but now it is only a matter of time. Note that for the first time the talks between the lead actor and one of the producers of the project, Brad Pitt, with David Fincher became known back in the summer of 2016. However, they were unsuccessful, as in the early fall, Pitt became involved in a dramatic divorce proceedings. As a result, Paramount Pictures canceled the release of the movie, scheduled for summer 2017. The new head of the studio knows Fincher personally and collaborated with him earlier, in particular, during the movieing of the Gone Girl thriller.
