Noomi Rapace will not appear in the sequel to the science fiction movie Prometheus, Alien: Covenant. As reported by Collider, this information was confirmed by the director of the movie, Ridley Scott. He also stated that he is still in the process of recruiting key players.

Recall that Rapace played a researcher named Shaw, who remained the only surviving person from the crew of the Prometheus spacecraft. Along with the damaged android David, she traveled on the Engineers' starship to their home planet.

Previously, it was stated that Shaw will have a small batch in the sequel. Probably now Ridley Scott has decided that the sequel can do without her. The plot of the movie "Alien: Covenant" will be built around a group of researchers who find themselves on a planet inhabited by terrifying creatures.

Ridley Scott himself guaranteed in one of his interviews that the picture will have the "toughest R rating", and viewers will be able to see the familiar xenomorph in all its stages.

Filming will start in February 2016 with an eye on the premiere in October 2017. Michael Fassbender is expected to return to David.

Recall that the box office of Prometheus was very modest for a project of this level, so the original concept of the continuation was changed.
