Nicholas Hoult is negotiating to take part in the movie War of the Currents, which will tell about the confrontation between two famous inventors - Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse. According to The Wrap, the British actor has been offered the role of Nikola Tesla, citing its sources.
Note that two key roles will be played by Benedict Cumberbatch and Michael Shannon. Earlier it was assumed that Westinghouse would be played by Jake Gyllenhaal, but negotiations with the latter were not crowned with success. The director of the project has also changed. For a time it was listed as a USA director Timur Bekmambetov, but now he is replaced by Alfonso Gomez-Reyon, the creator of such movies as "The City That Was Afraid of the Sunset" and "Me, Earl and the Dying Girl.
Recall that the action of the picture will take place at the end of the 19th century, and the plot will center on the rivalry of famous inventors who sought to create the world's first operating and commercially profitable electrical network. Thomas Edison was a supporter of DC circuits, while George Westinghouse advocated the use of AC. Nikola Tesla also took this point of view.
